TUN to TAP

I am a complete NOOB to Pi. I have installed the pivpn and connected clients. It is working great! I would like to access my Apple Bonjour devices while outside the network via VPN. I have read that this can be done over a TAP connection rather than a TUN. How can I convert to TAP? I have tried to use MCAST, but cannot get it to start. I know I have painted a thin picture, so ask away...
