This is where we can discuss what we would like to see added or changed in OpenVPN.

openvpn tap bridge mode: ifconifig-pool from external dhcp

Lirics
It would be nice if there was an option on the server that was used instead of ifconfig-pool (something like server-bridge nogw).
Heart of the matter
With this option openvpn server in bridge mode would to use external dhcp as address pool only. On the server side (tap bridge), use the existing external dhcp server as a pool of IP addresses, and ignore received from this dhcp routes (default and others), dns and etc...

x-platform is preferred, so the server-side solution would be more universal.
