Spectrum Router Port Forwarding

I am trying to set up an OpenVPN server on my home network. The problem I am facing is that my internet provider is spectrum and I have their router. When I am trying to configure port forwarding, it leads me to their app. From there, I have to choose devices listed on my network and do an IP reservation. From that IP, I have to open up the port from that device. If I am connecting from my public IP that my ISP gave me, do I do an IP reservation on the IP of the server on the machine of my ubuntu machine? I am trying to understand how I can route the traffic to the correct port on the machine.
