help to clarify my doubts about Openvpn
hello, good evening .... what is the best option to mount an Openvpn server ...
raspberry pi with Ubuntu server or you can also do a good installation on a computer based on enigma2 o.s (Linux) ???
Is there a way that all the traffic that enters and leaves my network goes through openvpn?
and if so, I must have a server to exit and a client to enter the server ???
My problem is that I have an enigma2 os linux based box in my house and another in my second residence or rest residence, in my house I have contracted PPV services for sat channels and in the second residence no ... luckily I I have found out that my Enigma2 box allows me to stream, and I had thought about streaming the channels that I have contracted to the box of my second residence ... but of course to do that I need good security, I don't want to get in trouble for broadcast the free channels ...
With which I conclude that in the box of my usual resistance, where I have contracted the services I must create a server and in the second residence a client that connects to the server ... until there I come to understand ......
the usual resistance box already has openvpn pre-installed, what happens is that I don't know what version it is and I don't know if it's a complete openvpn or a precompiled one for this operating system, just as I don't know until which version or if it can support a version full of openvpn this OS ....
since I have put myself into this, because I have thought, if I create the openvn server, I can make all the traffic of my network (browsing, downloads ...) either from the pc or smartphone, go through it and thus have a completely secure network, both for internet purchases, access to my bank account, work files .....
the drawback is that I have read a lot on the web about how to configure said server, but there are too many tutorials and removing the steps of downloading easyrsa, creating the dh, ca keys, csr, ta.key and all these things necessary for the network encryption, then they change a lot in their configuration because each tutorial uses different encryptions, I suppose that depends on who configures it, and that is where I get lost, when configuring it and choosing a type of encryption, because I don't know which encryption is the safest ...
Nor do I know, if it is better to use openvpn 2.x or 3 and if my box accepts openvpn3 ...
Could someone help me or guide me on how to create this server ?? ...
Thanks and regards
