Openvpn & Reolink P2P Camera

Post by madtv74 » Tue Jun 04, 2019 7:17 pm

Hi,

i running successfully a openvpn server on a raspberry and until now i could access remotely to all of my servers and instar ip cameras (via app) in my private network. I connect mostly via my iphone or ipad.
My Openvpn server runs behind the vdsl modem. On the vdsl modem the port 1194 is open for the vpn server. The server is configured in a way that all traffic from the mobile device is routed via the vpn tunnel to the private network.

Now i installed 4 Reolink Argus Eco cameras (p2p with uid/password) in my private network and i cannot access from the reolink app to the cameras via vpn - only when my e.g. iphone is in the local network.

Can anyone tell me what configuration i need (in the server.conf) in order that it works. The reolink support says i have to enable udp ports.

Thank you
BR
Josef

You will need to know which ports your new cameras use and if you require broadcast packets.

NAT loopback issue also a suspect...

What do you mean with NAT loopback issue?

Please search NAT loopback and or Hairpinning.

I see that Reolink uses some cloud, I imagine the combination VPNtoHome/Cloud could be problematic.
Connecting without VPN is not an option? Reolink state they use SSL for the Cloud.
Or maybe connecting to the cam's LAN IP's when on VPN is a solution...

NordVPN appears to block IP address of Reolink camera so remote iPhone can’t see live video feed. Should using OpenVPN on routersolve problem
