Hello Folks.
I've been a very happy OpenVPN user for a bunch of years.
(I had another account/user here...but it sort of went away - so I signed up again as I really need some help...)

As has happened before - once again I need to change my Dynamic DNS provider because of using DTDNS, which is closing permanently & soon.

Up until now (literally for years) all has been terrific using a windows IP updater app at the remote location & OpenVPN to connect with my friend's remote system.

When I had to change this before I did make notes, but that was years ago & in between I lost my notes as to what changes I made to get it done minus the need for excessive travels to the friend's place that is ~120 miles away.

From what I can see, it looks as if I may just be able to change the domain used for this in the .OVPN file whilst leaving all else the same - but I remain uncertain & do not wish to break it by skipping any needed steps.
(I have a vague memory of possibly also regenerating some files for this, but after ~3 years the memory is just too vague...)

Is there any guide made for changing this - or may some kind soul here be willing to tell me the correct steps to get this done so as to assure continued remote access as needed ??

My question is a rather simple yes or no type of thing to start with & possibly needs a little further detail.
An offer that appears to be of this nature, mentioning that there is work for hire does not help me & is simply apparent self-promotion.

Given that there MUST be lots of good folks here who are far more experienced with OpenVPN settings than myself, it seemed to me that surely someone here must easily be able tell me what needs to be adjusted...but:
Perhaps I am mistaken in that idea ??

Yes, it will be for a different domain to be used, but that is very easy...
The source being used for the DDNS could be anything, really - I need to keep this connection from failing is all.

P.S.:
I first set up OpenVPN for this distant connection ~5 years ago.
This will be the 3rd time I will be forced to change the DDNS domain in OpenVPN due to outside forces beyond my control.
So - this time I aim to do something a bit more permanent !!

If you read some of the documentation you will find that we can speak the same language.
