OpenVPN Windows Client 'No Show' Problem

I have just downloaded the latest Windows Client and installed it. But whether it's run straight or as Adminstrator - it does not create a window for the executable. If I start it a second time, its says it's already running. It does the same whether I save a config file in either location, or not. I have uninstalled, restarted Windows etc. and re-installed - all no joy. This is Windows 7 Home. I even tried the previous 'stable' version.
Would appreciate any help on this - thanks
