bandwidth issue and public IP

Hi,
I installed the OpenVPN community server on a Linux server and OpenVPN Mac and Windows clients
Everything works well, but when the VPN is ON, all the traffic is inside the tunnel and the bandwidth can be 10x slower than without VPN
I haven’t found a solution to not have all the internet traffic inside the tunnel.
But I need, when asking the client to connect to a remote server behind the VPN server, this server needs to be requested by the IP of the OpenVPN server because of whitelist usage and not the public IP of the client.
