Is there a way to add a configuration line to an OpenVPN client to force it to disconnect after a certain time period?

I have tried 'inactivity n' but that doesn't work.

Can anyone help me?

If the client is not inactive for n seconds then it will not be disconnected ..

You can use the --management interface to kill a client.
