Unable to import config file

First time user with an iPhone 6 and iOS 10.0.2. Unable to import ovpn file using any means offered. Selecting any option does not take me to the next step. Selecting help causes the app to crash.

Have I done something wrong?

Maybe I did do something wrong. I was also having trouble connecting my iPhone to iTunes (had to reboot Mac). Now VPN connection info is present from iTunes.
