Hi all,

Sorry to bother you here, but you will see that I am a real noob... but I want to do it my self.
I simply want to setup a OpenVPN from work to home.
I have downloaded EasyRSA 3.0.0. and did a complete installation of OpenVPN 2.3.8.

I open an Administrator cmd.exe window but when I want to run "C:\OPENVPN\easyrsa\distro\windows\EasyRSA Start.bat", it says that EasyRSA is not recognized as blablabla...
Then I try "C:\OPENVPN\easyrsa\distro\windows\EasyRSAStart.bat" (with no space after renaming the .bat), it says that bin\sh.exe is not recognized as blablabla...
Indeed I don't see this .exe anywhere.

Could someone help me find what I certainly missed somewhere?

I expect you have downloaded Easy-RSA v3.0.0:

this version is incomplete ..

I recommend you try again with this version:

I would have never thought that a final release of a software would be less "finished" than a Release Candidate...
That's weird...
On top of that, I am probably not the first one to face this issue

OpenVPN Community Edition is Free Open Source Software and all people involved are volunteers .. so I guess ecrist has been very busy.

Yes, yes no problem with that. Very happy of what exists already.
But if final version is not finalized, why releasing it officially ?
It can be confusing for those who, like me, are not used to all this stuff.
This is just what I meant.
But I confirm this is great to have all these volunteers doing this for the community.

Okay I managed to create all the files but setting up the server (WRT54GL with DD) and the client (R8000 also with DD) with all the firewall stuff is too far beyond my skills.
I can't go further.
Anyway it was nice to try to understand how Easy-RSA works.

If you have trouble with your routers you can simply use OpenVPN on computers.
The OpenVPN documentation can "walk you through" practically everything ..
and there is the forum if you get stuck.

Well, I need the all LAN to be on the VPN, so I must set it up within the R8000.

What was strange, is the ca.crt didn't remained in the WRT54GL dedicated window after saving the configuration. All other certificates rremained, except this one. Don't know why.

But more over, I could read in different places that there are important firewall configurations to set up both sides, and I don't catch a word of what should be done...

depending on what that actually means .. You can have access to your entire home LAN and your home LAN can have access to your VPN without a router based VPN.

The only firewall configuration you require is that the port you use for your VPN server is open on the firewall which is sits behind.

If you want to learn about OpenVPN I recommend using Linux, even in a Virtual Machine is sufficient. Once you understand how it all fits together, configuring your routers should pose less or even no problems.

If not .. your choice ..
