I am using openVPN on Android on my phone (7.1.1) and tablet (5.0.2) with the same result:
Trying to connect from the internet (4G or Public LAN), the server times out.
If I ssh through my router/modem to a host on my LAN, then ssh to the openVPN server, then logout and close the ssh connection, I can connect to my openVPN server and all traffic goes through the VPN... But only on the device I used to ssh in.
How's that for a brain teaser?
Any thoughts?
Must ssh first or not able to connect

Re: Must ssh first or not able to connect
Any idea of what I could check?
The logs don't seem to indicate anything.
