I have an OpenVPN server running on a Raspberry Pi in order to access my home LAN when I am away and also to browse some location sensitive sites.
I set this up in beginning of 2015 and the actual version is probably very old by now.
(I don't know how to check the version of the openvpn server running on the RPi, though, so I don't know if apt-get has updated it to a more recent version. Could be 2.2RC1...)
Anyway, I wanted to know if there are incompatibilities between older versions of OpenVPN (like 2.2RC1) and the newest release?
If I run an apt-get upgrade openvpn, will it move the installation to the latest and will I still be able to connect to it with my older ovpn files?
I connect to OpenVPN from Windows and Android.
