certificate and key generation

Do i need to use same openvpn binary which i used to generate certificate and key or i can use different binaries with same certificates and keys ?

You should be able to use any recent openvpn release. Keep openvpn up-to-date 8-)

If any version of openvpn were to break certificate usage there would be a very good reason
and it would be very clearly documented.
