Ongoing iOS 10 bugs worse with 10.2.1 - HOW ABOUT A FIX?????

SETUP
Using PIA & Airvpn. Issue started w iOS 10 now worse with 10.2.1. Using OpenVPN Connect 1.0.7. iPad Pro 9.7.

PROBLEM
1) Enable OpenVPN Connect with either vpn provider.
2) After a short period, wifi icon and vpn icon go missing at top of screen
3) Connection eventually stalls, no activity
4) Have to disable and re-enable VPN connection
5) Wifi and VPN icons pop back up until the connection stalls again.

TOUBLESHOOTING STEPS
1) DFU iOS reinstall
2) Reset network settings on iPad
3) Reboot iPad
4) Reinstall OpenVPN Connect
5) loaded new carts into OpenVPN Connect
6) Tried hopping on at home, multiple public wifi spots. No change.
7) Tried different serves in the US and outside US. Same behavior.
8) Happens with UDP/TCP on ports 443, 80, 53, 2018

NEW ISSUE
Updated to iOS 10.2.1 and connection stalling EVEN MORE and staying up for even SHORTER DURATIONS.

FEATURE REQUEST FOR NEXT REVISION
How about ability to SECURELY DELETE OR DISABLE the log when you tap on the "status" button.

Same problem here too. At the moment this is totally unusable and should be pulled out from AppStore until fix.

Total failure!

Even after the latest update released on the 2nd, the issue still persists.
When in Wifi and vpn connected, the phone goes back to LTE and does not re-join wifi while the vpn is connected.

I have to manually disconnect openvpn and re-connect.

Hi, I suffer from the same problems. You two, butthead2017 and cudiaco described exactly what I have too.
It´s terribly annoying, is there a way out of this?
This guy (link below) claims to have found a solution, though I have no clue how to set up what he suggests.
Any idea? That´d be great!
