Use of audio interferes with Bluetooth hearing aids

OpenVPN's use of audio to keep a connection open in a background state interferes with my hearing aid Bluetooth connection.

Example, when App is launched my hearing aids swtich to iPhone audio program mode, because there is not active audio my hearing aids cut off all sound. Ending the connection or quitting the OpenVPN App does not release the audio connection so the only way I can get my hearing aids back to a non-iPhone program mode is to reboot.

I think the App and service are great, but it's a bummer to lose control of my phone and hearing aid audio.
