OpenVPN android app stuck with the message "waiting for server"

Hi,

Till few days I was able to connect to OpenVPN server from Android phone running on cynogenmod marshmallow build. But the for the past few days when I click on the connect button it gets stuck with the status message "Waiting for server" Few days back I received the update of the openvpn app. Not sure where to look for issue. There is internet connection on my phone via wi-fi as I am able to surf the net.

Can anyone help
