Vars.bat Cannot Be Edited

The OpenDNS setup steps are simple enough but for some reason vars.bat won't let me edit it.

OS: WIN7 64bit SP1 [latest updates installed]
OpenVPN Software: openvpn-install-2.3.1-I005-x86_64.exe


I've tried to edit vars.bat via notepad++ & plain old windows' notepad but each time I try to overwrite the file I'm told that I can't. on Notepad++ I'm told "Save Failed. Please check if this file is opened in another program" on Notepad I'm told: Access Denied.

I have tried everything:
-restarted the computer = Still can't edit, getting the same above messages.
-deleted vars.bat and regenerate it again.
-tried to remove folder's permission [unchecking read only] = Still can't edit, getting the same above messages.


Please, someone shed some light on this.
