Setting raspberry pi as personal VPN (anonymizer) + your IRC

Post by sdgkjh3708 » Sat Jul 04, 2015 11:06 am

Hi

I'm tech noob, so I wanted to visit your IRC channel (#openvpn on freenode) for little help.
I was not able to connect, my irc client said: Cannot join channel (+r) - you need to be identified with services. Please explain.

Reason I wanted visit it, was asking whether it's truly anonymize tool. I have found this french web:

Code: Select all

http://mondedie.fr/viewtopic.php?id=5263
. Google translated to english:

Code: Select all

https://translate.google.sk/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=sk&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fmondedie.fr%2Fviewtopic.php%3Fid%3D5263&edit-text=&act=url
I have absolutely no clue how it works. I never did anything with linux, neither with connection settings. But I don't trust VPN paid services. I would like to make my own VPN, as cheap as possible. Therefore I wanted do it with newest Raspberry Pi.

So please if you may reply me:
1, How may I join to your IRC channel ?

2, Is VPN made on raspb. pi with OpenVPN working as real VPN anonymize tool ? (someone told me, that they will still see my real IP, if I use raspberry. True ?)

Thank you for help !
