2.3_rc1 and Windows 8

Post by mokk » Thu Nov 15, 2012 6:41 pm

In Windows 8 OpenVPN 2.3_rc1, as well as previous versions, can't establish connection properly. The connection seems to be created, as OpenVPN client receives its IP, but no data can be transferred. The client floods its log file with messages about ERROR 0x0000008a (138).

As I see nobody has posted any reply here... Maybe I only encounter this situation?
Has anyone been able to use OpenVPN on Windows 8 successfully?

I'm running 2.2.2 on Windows 8. I have a similar issue in that it connects but no traffic goes through. I don't remember seeing any error messages at all though. I found that I have to run the remove all tap and add new tap before OpenVPN will actually work. So I combined the two bat files to one on my desktop that I can hit quickly before connecting. I came here looking to see if there were any newer versions that might not have this issue. Doesn't sound like it at this point.

chuckles, thank you for your reply. It was very important for me to know if the problem was only mine, or it was OpenVPN's problem. I have finally found what was wrong and solved my problem.
