Newbie problem HELP!

Post by Godspe3d » Sun Nov 20, 2011 9:35 am

First of all, Hi to all openvpn users and community helpers.

Can you help me with this (difficult problem for me) simple problem.

To start off, the config that i'm using is created by another person to connect to a free vpn service.
My problem is, every time i connect to a server in the openvpn client or the portable version there are always errors but the clients says im connected. This vpn provides internet, but when my vpn connects i always cannot browse in my browser. I've done all that the person who created the config instructed me to do, but to no avail.
This is a sample of the log of one of the vpn that im trying to connect:

Can you help me with this problem? Before i forgot, this is my specs and os:

Please can anyone help me?

If may I add some info,
Theere's only one vpn service that i can connect to.

i think this is the log:

Initializing Engine...
PD-Proxy VPN, Inc <sales@pdproxy.com>
Tunnel Engine v2.1.2 Build Date 09/25/2011
Checking internet connection...
Resolving Server Address...
Connecting to UDP Server...
Scanning open ports....
Open port[0] found...
Authenticating...
You are using a trial account!
You only have limited access!
Enabling interface [Local Area Connection 63]
Setting IP of interface to 172.22.1.28
Failed to reset DNS of interface!
Waiting for interface to come up...
Failed to apply DNS to interface!
Updating routing table........
Succesfully connected to server!
For help & support visit http://forum.pdproxy.com/

~Why can I connect with this vpn service that does not use openvpn?.. Is my laptop at fault? or Is the openvpn files/ network drivers or tap at fault? Can anyone help me with this?..

And lastly, may i ask if there's a code in openvpn that enables you to update the routing table because i think
it can solve my problem.(not sure)

Waiting for your kind and considerate reply

Heya Godspe3d, I meant to help you out yesterday, but just ran short of time. Now I can try it...

Hmmm if one config works, and another config doesn't work, then its going to be good if you can post the 2nd config too...

In the mean time I have 2 suggestions though:

(i) did you run OpenVPN as Adminsitrator? (Right click -> Run as Administrator)

(ii) try comment out the line "route-method exe" (delete the line, or change it to: "#route-method exe")
The cure for boredom is curiosity
