PuppyLinux (TahrPup) DNS Leak With OpenVPN 2.4.3

I'm running tahrpup64 and have tried the OpenVPN 2.3.2 application hosted on the Ubuntu repo as well as a source-compiled 2.4.3 version. Both are experiencing DNS leaks.

My configuration file includes the often mentioned snippet / script below:

script-security 2
up /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf
down /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf

This configuration works for me in Ubuntu, but not in PuppyLinux. I've posted a question on the Puppy forums, but I was curious if anyone here might have any insight into why it would not work the same way here.
