Apologizes if this is in the wrong subforum:
How do I open a "terminal" to begin work on the Metasploitabla project? Is that the same thing as my command line, or can I substitute the CL in lieu of it?

Re: Newb Q: How do I open a terminal?
Update: I found out the CL is the same as terminal, but I have another question.
(For anyone else who's struggling, you might find the nmap command doesn't work next. In which case, you need to [https://nmap.org/download.html#windows]download the .exe file, and then [http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-software-2/bash-nmap-command-not-found-558354/]create a path under environment variables to get past step 1.)
On step two now, and I can't find the "rpcinfo" command. I tried googling "download rpc.exe / rpcinfo.exe" because I figured it's a file problem like nmap was, but I can't tell if such a thing exists for Windows (but it should?). Any idea of what's going on?
Thanks!

Re: Newb Q: How do I open a terminal?
Okay, I found [https://community.ctf365.com/t/cant-use-rpcinfo/1066/8]this how-to but nothing is working! Not even the last command, which looked promising:
nmap -p PORT --script=rpcinfo 10.195.2.2
All I get is "Your port specifications are illegal." etc. I did find a file named "rpcinfo" under c:\users\myname\, but it's blank with 0 KB.
Does that mean it's not really downloaded? One user said RPC should be in nmaps, but I don't see it.
Am very confused, please help if can!

I don't know. Ctf365 somehow brought me here so I thought it was related.
Going to download Linux and try it that way. Thanks for your help.
