Using VPN To Bypass ISP Port Blocking

Hello, I purchased a VPS and installed CentOS 6 on it with OpenVPN and set it up properly. My ISP blocks all ports and I heard that you could get around port blocking by using a VPN. Is this possible? How would I allow OpenVPN to portfoward my connection? Hopefully someone can shed some light on this topic. - Thanks
