Post-auth python script to check for AV status

Hello, I'm in the process of implementing openvpn and would like it to check for status of anti virus on client machine. Seems like there is a way based on general openvpn documentation but doesn't look like there are any samples out there and the documentation look perplex as I'm not a developer. Wondering if anyone has ever implemented this that could share a sample script? I'm running the ubuntu access server in AWS. Thank you
