iPhone works, PC does not.

Hi folks,

I use OpenVPN on a PFsense router.

Connecting the iPhone to OpenVPN

This works :
My iPhone has regular internet (but via the OpenVPN server IP).
Connecting the iPhone to the same subnet (192.168.114.x OpenVPN subnet) using just IP addresses works.
Connecting the iPhone to a different subnet (192.168.115.x internal network subnet) using just IP addresses works.

This does not work :
Connecting the iPhone to a different subnet (192.168.115.x internal network subnet) using host names does not work. I think it does not resolve the host names correctly.

Connecting the laptop to OpenVPN.

This works :
Connecting the laptop to the same subnet (192.168.114.x OpenVPN subnet) using just IP addresses works.

This does not work :
My laptop does not have regular internet anymore.
Connecting the laptop to a different subnet (192.168.115.x internal network subnet) using just IP addresses does not work.
Connecting the laptop to a different subnet (192.168.115.x internal network subnet) using host names does not work.

Can anyone help me by telling (in plain English):
Why is the OpenVPN server not resolving hostnames?
Why is my regular internet working on my iPhone but not on my laptop?
Why can my iPhone jump to a differend subnet (192.168.115.x) and my laptop cannot?

Many thanks.

Sebastiaan.
